Carlito`s Cafe in Newcastle

This is a wonderful place. Delicious, clean, and a great waitress, who really took care of us. Had a ton of food to take home too! I always do. Sometimes, better in some ways the second time around!

Wow food was amazing had the el chapo bacon wrapped chimichanga. Chips salsa and queso automatically arrived on the table as we sat. Definitely will be back.

We have been going there for years because there’s very few restaurants in the area. In the past couple of years, the food has gotten tasteless and the queso has been watered down with little to no taste. Their prices have gone up. If it was good, I might not mind paying it. We ALWAYS have to ask for our chicken fajitas to be WELL DONE because they will not be done if you don’t say that. They also don’t have any flavor anymore.We also have to pay with cash, no credit cards I’m sure this post will be taken down if I say why..

Terrible service and then wanted to argue with me when my food was wrong. Dont waist your time or money. Take your business to la Luna’s!!!!!

Maybe it was an off night for them ... For years, I've heard about how great the place was. Sorry - but after all that build up I was terribly disappointed. The staff was not especially friendly. The waiter got two of our orders wrong. Service was very slow. I'm not sure I'll come up with a reason to try them again.

Indian 🌮. Trucks can park near. Fast service. Fair prices. Decent food. Always bustling, customers always smiling. Fun atmosphere. Good drinks.

Delicious food, huge thick chips for the salsa and queso, and a complimentary cinnamon dessert. Staff was friendly and the food was done fast. I had a taco salad it was fresh and light on my stomach. Portion sizes are filling.

The servers are lovely people and the food is great 👍

Place a take out order on May 09 2020 about 5:30 they said it would be ready in 20-30 minutes so call at 6:10 to see if my order was before I headed town to get it. I was told on the phone the order was not ready so I said okay and then they hung up the phone we never got our food and was never called back to let us know it was ready. Poor customer service if this is how they are going to treat customers then they need to be shutdown

The food and service was good. The shredded beef taquito plate was okay.

I eat here quite frequently and normally it's delicious. This wasn't so much. I ordered cheese enchiladas dinner with chili sauce, rice and refried beans. They have changed the way they make the chili sauce and beans and it's not as good. It has some meat in both of them that was kind of gristly and the tortillas they sent as part of the set up smelled of lard strongly and were tuff and inedible. I called the order in and picked it up and did not want to have to take it back to show them at least the tortillas. Everything was more of a preference problem. I've never been disappointed by them before and I hope this was just a one time thing, because I have always loved their food. I will be back despite this because of prior experience.

Loved it! Great service! Wonderful food! Can't breathe!! Got free chips and salsa and cheese dip and tortillas, our dinners were perfect. Great atmosphere, very casual and relaxed. Friendly and had a wonderful time. Will absolutely go back! Our waitress was wonderful!

This was awesome. Our waitress, Maria was great. This is my leftovers and the sopapilla was huge

Worse Mexican food ever!!! Paid $17 for a VEGETABLE fajita. When I ask why I had been charged that much, supervisor said that’s how the owner wants it. Instead of rectifying the situation she just said it was the “policy” lesson learned!

Carlitos was very good. We both had the tacos with rice and beans and it was great!!

Carlitos is the best restaurant in all of Newcastle! Their food is outstanding and their staff is polite and friendly. I’ve been coming here for about ten years now and in those ten years I’ve never been disappointed by their food.

We ordered fajita , chicken enchiladas and the food was not good. I took a few bites and I couldn't eat my dinner. We loved eating there but it is not same . We will not be eating there anymore .

Went here after my graduation from OU with my family. Staff was awesome and we were served quickly. Love having Carlitos in Newcastle.

We sat for 10 mins before anyone came to get drink order, we got food not how we ordered it, as we was leaving we also seen dried up salsa on the booth we sat at....if I could give 0 stars I would!

Really bad service, so-so food and high prices. Pick a different restaurant. The waitress seemed angry when we sat down. She seemed to resent the fact we came to eat. She started off mad and she never got any nicer. We had to ask and ask for basic things like napkins and refills. She was so hateful that we quit asking. The prices are high compared to other Mexican restaurants. Their food is ok, not great and definitely does not justify the higher prices. We will not go back.

Good food but our server Kimberly was so rude talking bad about customers to other co workers and not refilling our drinks and she was so loud we just left

We went there today the one in newcastle completely nasty beans horrible. Rice was cold. Relish was all carrots no onion it. Will never go there again

Usually much better than today. Quesadilla was cold and hard.. and the sour cream ran all over the box so just not up to the usual standard for them.

It wasn't great but wasn't bad. The service was really slow. The food was average for an Oklahoma Tex-Mex restaurant. If it's close or you're pressed for time, it will do the job. If you're looking for a great dining experience, look elsewhere.

Quick service and delivery of food. Fajitas for two was excellent! We recommend the steak but the chicken was also great! Definitely coming back when in the area!

I've been to Carlitos before but it seems to have gone down in their standards after this coming. The sauces came in styrofoam cups that were sloppily filled, some cheese and salsa down the sides. The bean burritos weren't really filled, instead the tortillas rolled into themselves with some beans. The rice was dry and the refried beans on the side were not smashed and had that tan crisp of overcooked beans. There was no salt on the table for the chips, which might not seem to much of a big deal but still, same as not having Lemonade. My companions seemed to enjoy their meals but mine was all together bland and somewhat, I feel, unfinished.

Food was decent. Way way to pricey for the flavor profile. Had plenty to eat of the beef fajitas I ordered but they had little flavor. Nice place if you want nice.

Excellent place for food & drinks! The restaurant is very clean. All of the staff is very friendly! Some of the coldest beer my husband has ever had & the food is authentic Mexican food. Highly recommend Carlitos Cafe : )

Great dinner tonight. Mexican tacos stuffed with beef. HOMEMADE AUTHENTIC flour tortillas (yes we have had the real thing!)

I was skeptical because of the reviews but the experience was good. Some things are a little pricey for the atmosphere in my opinion but the portions are large. Food was good and came out in a timely manner. We never got low on chips, salsa, queso, or drinks. I would recommend.

Our drinks stayed empty ... Our plates were dirty . They were very slow with the food and to top it off they forced gratuity on the check. Very sad for stopping in.

Worst Mexican food ever! The tamales were more breading and barely any meat at all and their tortillas are not edible! Stiff and tasteless tortillas. I will never go there again! And the beans tasted like the can they came in! Let me say, the service was at least good.

Had a great time for my dad's birthday in April. They put up with our craziness and sung my dad happy birthday. Food was good.
